In any layout, all vacuum cleaners are equipped with special compartments for storing debris and dust - a dust collector. So, all collected garbage is collected in:
- special bag;
- a separate container;
- water filter.
Special bags for collecting and storing dust were used in the very first designs of vacuum cleaners. Modern devices can be equipped with bags made of fabric, synthetic materials, paper or pulp. For reusable use, synthetically and natural fabric bags are suitable, for single use, cellulose and woven bags are chosen.
Debris and dust particles settle in the bag when they pass through its internal cavity under the influence of an air stream. Those small particles that can pass through the small pores of the bag are deposited thanks to special filtering parts that are installed in the air duct. There are also special filters: which clean the air stream entering the vacuum cleaner from bacteria, dust mites and microorganisms.
Special containers for collecting dust and debris are made of transparent plastic and are used for the entire period of use and operation of the vacuum cleaner, if there is no significant damage. That is, this type of dust collector is quite wear-resistant, and component malfunctions are extremely rare.
The use of transparent plastic containers for dust collection helps to control the degree of clogging of this dust collector and to clean it in time.
The dust gets into the container due to a special vortex, or in another way dust collector cyclone, movement of a jet of air that is sucked in by a vacuum cleaner. If the suction rate is high, then dust and dirt particles in the air stream settle on the inner walls of the dust collector due to the kinetic energy of the flow of this air. Currently, in many devices for the most effective cleaning and dust removal, the principle with 2-3 swirl cycles is used. However, the use of such cyclones is not a guarantee of perfect purification, so it is still necessary to use an additional filtering system for outgoing air jets.
Effective and high-quality air purification from microscopic, subtle, particles of dust, debris and various microbes provides water type filter. Such a water filter works on the principle of suppressing dirt and dust with water. This design of a vacuum cleaner equipped with a water filter is similar to a vacuum cleaner with a cyclone type of cleaning, but the difference is that dust is collected in a water vortex stream rather than air.

Efficient operation is possible mainly due to high-quality parts called nodes. Their precise functioning helps to completely clean the surfaces of dust and debris. However, there are some details in the device of vacuum cleaners, which at first glance do not play a significant role, but actually perform very important functions. These parts have a significant impact on the life of the device, dust and debris suction power and the level of air purification. These elements include:
- purification filters;
- special gaskets;
- bearings and bushings.
Now filters are made of special woven and non-woven materials that provide effective cleaning of the air flow not only from large debris, but also from microscopic dust, microorganisms, bacteria and dust mites. To make the joints more airtight, special fluoropolymers are used, which ensure the tightness of all the main zones of the device. And thanks to bearings and fluoroplastic bushings, it is possible to ensure long-term functioning of important moving parts.
