Error code F18 in the Bosch washing machine

Error F18 is in many ways similar to code F03 - it is associated with improper discharge of water. But if F03 can be considered a warning, then this code signals a critical problem. In no case do not continue washing, as you risk flooding both your bathroom and the neighbors below.

If your model does not have a display, then the RPM indicators indicate an error: at the same time, the 1000 and 600 RPM or 800 and 400 lamps light up or flash, that is, the maximum and minimum values:

What can cause an error?

  • Problems with draining water cause a number of factors:
  • There was a malfunction in the control module;
  • The drain hose or filter that is installed at the outlet of the machine is clogged;
  • You incorrectly connected the machine;
  • The spin-free program was started, which ended incorrectly.

What to do?

Although the F18 code is considered dangerous, you can fix the problem by your own efforts, without resorting to repair. And this is where to start, namely:

Turn off the washing machine for a quarter of an hour. Thus, you will restart the control module, and if the problem was related to a failure in its operation, then after reconnecting the code will disappear;

Clean the filters and hose - after washing, small street debris, scraps of thread or larger items remain in the drum. Thanks to the nets at the exit of the drum, the garbage does not enter the sewer. Over time, it can accumulate and interfere with normal drainage;

Inspect the hose for bends or tears. It also does not hurt to rinse it under good pressure;

Make sure the drain hose is half a meter above the floor or higher. If it is connected incorrectly, then the pressure may not be enough. Most likely in this case, error F18 will appear literally after the first few cycles of operation.

Nothing helped? Then contact the master. He will check the pump, pressure sensor and control board. Replacing accessories will probably solve your problem.
