Most often, error E02 indicates a breakdown in the electric motor of the Bosch washing machine. The signs are critical: the machine does not start at all or the program starts, but the drum does not start spinning. However, the code is ambiguous, and sometimes you can solve the problem yourself.
Home diagnostics and troubleshooting
An E02 error can be caused by interruptions in the power supply network, so first you need to check the factors that are not directly related to the mechanics of the device. For this:
- Make sure that the mains voltage is normal. If it is low, you should contact an electrician;
- Check that the motor contacts are OK;
- Reboot the machine. To do this, disconnect it from the network and wait about a quarter of an hour. If the code disappears after reconnecting, then the board has failed.
If the above methods do not help, you have to repair the mechanics of the machine.
What needs to be repaired?
Error E02 can cause a number of breakdowns. In order to accurately determine the cause, it is necessary to check the following components:
- Electric motor brushes. They are the cause of the malfunction in 80% of cases. These parts wear out the fastest, but changing them is easy. Problems with electric brushes can be indicated by the fact that the machine starts the program, but the drum does not start spinning, as well as atypical noise during washing;
- Rotor bearing. Quite often, problems with the electric motor are caused by water that has entered the rotor bearing. If you notice that the machine is noisy during the spin cycle, this is another sign of this problem;
- Control module. This is the rarest option, but nonetheless very real. If other reasons are excluded, then the problem lies here.
