In order to connect a gas hob, it is recommended to officially contact specialized organizations that have a license and certain documents for performing these types of work. If you decide to deal with the connection and installation of the gas surface, you need to understand the important question: how to properly connect the gas hob. Also, for this, it is absolutely necessary to know the security measures and strictly follow the instructions.
Connecting a gas hob: a set of necessary tools
To mount this equipment, you need the following set of tools:
- graphite pencil;
- silicone sealant;
- adjustable wrench No. 2;
- flax thread;
- multimeter;
- corrugated hose subject to mandatory certification;
- jigsaw.
The panel should be in a well-ventilated and ventilated room, with a Ross point of not more than 70%. To achieve certain parameters, a supply and exhaust air exhaust system is created, where the amount of required air should be 2 m3/ h
Before installation gas hobs, the following order of technical measures is carried out:
- The technological hole in the kitchen is selected for connection to the gas;
- If the panel has an automatic ignition device, it is necessary to turn on the power to the 220 V device module, this will require:
- jigsaw;
- saw in increments of 1.5–2.0 mm;
- PVSnG wire with a cross-section of 2.5-4.0 mm2;
- conductive conductors in electrical safety class with degree of protection P1 and double insulation.
- Apply the template to the cutting surface, adhering to the width, height and depth of landing of the hob.
- To properly cut a hole under the panel, place the template on the countertop and draw its base. Next, carefully cut the hole with a jigsaw. The next step is the processing of the sealant seat. It will protect the material from moisture.
- Next, put the double-sided tape on the surface to be sawn and make a ruler.
- Using a jigsaw, cut the mounting hole to the size of the panel. If a regular hole is provided, then additional measures are not required.
- If such measures are necessary, then you need to degrease the cut hole with a soap solution or a special suspension.
- Gas panels are installed on a horizontally flat surface that does not have deviations of more than 2 degrees.
The panel is lowered into the selected hole on the countertop, and if necessary, the edges were evenly spaced along the gasket along the entire perimeter of the gas equipment.
The presence of even the slightest thermal gap can cause water and other liquids to enter the oven. This problem may cause a power outage. The presence of moisture under the panel can provoke the appearance of pathogenic microorganisms and delamination of the surface.
It is required to install surface clamps on the adjustment springs, so that most of the bracket is under the area of the countertop. Hold the springs in place, with the other hand tighten the bolts with a screwdriver in the direction of the arrow until they click.
To ensure a tight connection to the gas distribution system, flax is applied to the surface of all threaded joints, both on the hob and on the gas pipe. Gaskets are inserted into the gas hose area, if provided for by the operating instructions and do not conflict with safety measures.
Screw the threaded hose connections to the hob and gas pipe, you need to turn clockwise until the nut stops, then tighten with a wrench. It is not worthwhile to make great efforts, this can lead to the forcing of a paronite or fluoroplastic gasket and to a gas leak.
The gas panel device has a nominal diameter G1 / 2, which is necessary to connect the device to the gas system. For liquefied gas (propane, butane, isobutane), a nozzle with a diameter of 9 x 1 mm is wound at the end of the hose2. A flexible gas pipeline that conducts gas must not touch the metal components of the coating.
Choosing a heater, wire, flexible hose and power for the gas panel
When choosing a heater (tubular electric heater), the power and the cross section of the electric supply network are taken into account. It is necessary to take into account the power of the machines on the input and the residual current circuit breaker. Before install hob, you need to consult with energy supply organizations.
TEN are of two types:
- Tubular (tape) heating elements - the filament is located along the entire length of the heating element. The main advantage is low power consumption by voltage and increased energy resource. The spiral must not come into contact with the body of the product, otherwise the spiral must be completely replaced.
- Revolving heating elements - are a spiral wound on a material with high heat transfer (basalt, silicon, cast iron).
The corrugated flexible hose device consists of 3 main parts:
- Working part.
- Connection fitting.
- Connection socket.
The working length of the hose should not exceed 2-3 meters. The fitting must have technical documentation and a stamp on state verification. The connection connector has a tee, two outputs of which are muffled.
The cable for the gas hob must not be in contact with other utilities. When choosing the desired cross-section for the cable, it is necessary to follow the operating instructions for the selected device model. It takes into account the power (16 A) and the insulation of the carrier conductor (3.5 kW) for a voltage of 220 V.
In order to avoid stray currents and induced voltage entering the device, the use of insulating inserts is also provided, which are also purchased in specialized services or in networks licensed.
Observance of safety measures when connecting the hob to the gasification and electrification system
Safety primarily depends on the type and model of the stove. However, for any gas surface there is a danger associated with high temperature:
- to limit as much as possible the access of young children to heated surfaces in order to avoid thermal burns;
- It is recommended to remove dishes from the hob using tacks or special silicone gloves;
- it is not allowed to use this household appliance to heat the room;
- a plate with a metal casing must be “grounded” or “ground”.
Electrical safety measures depend on the correspondence of the indicators of the power consumption of the stove and the capabilities of the electrical network. A “zero” wire should be provided in the network, and the connector at the stove must be equipped with a circuit breaker with a grounding contact.
The power system protects the mains from overloads.Due to the presence of a residual current device (RCD), a person is highly protected from the negative effects of current.
To prevent damage to individual components of the gas panel, a number of protections are provided, for example, temperature limit sensors, a power cut-off system to heat the oven above the permitted value. In accordance with fire safety standards, the temperature indicator on the outer panels of the stove should not be higher than 90 degrees.
Safety in the use of household appliances is ensured by the "gas control" system. If the flame goes out and the temperature drops below the control value, then the system will turn off the gas supply to the burners in automatic mode.
The connection diagram of the hobs provides for the locking of the control knobs, which are held by magnetic attraction on a metal surface. They can be easily removed. Removable control sticks not only exclude dangerous pranks of children with them, but also prevent accidents.
Installation and connection of the built-in gas hob can be carried out independently, having basic knowledge in the field of gas distribution and power supply. However, it is strongly recommended that you contact a specialized organization licensed to perform this type of work.
